Silence

Silence is the blue note,
the only honest pitch.
I think I hear it when I'm dreaming,
but, awake, I can't seem to pry it
from my hateful head.

That blue note lives in my head, too.

It is good when the voices take a breath, and silence, or the blue note returns.

I love that honest pitch in blue.

I like the first two lines as their own poem.

My goodness I have never heard a blue note....or maybe I have and never realized it. Fascinating....

I always think of blue notes as those mellow notes you hear in jazz. As in, Mel and The Blue Notes or The Blue Note Club. It is interesting the way you have used it here. I like the persisten buzzing of the note inside your head when you awaken.

Elusive, it doesn't come when chased.

We need more blue notes to wake us up and appreciate what we have. However the poem was great!

I think of blue notes as in a minor key. I love that kind of music.

It's a devil to find that "off" switch on the back of the skull....
