Someone untrue... too much whisper in peony towns
Oh I know those small towns and their whispers about the girls who bloom fast. Wonderfully written, Kelli.
Well, that cad and his untrue whispers! No doubt there's one little peony in peony town who's a bit smarter now. Great read!
Sounds like my small town. What a hot mess!
That small town meanness --you really caught it artfully!
I am sure there is a lot of gossip in a peony town!
And that sort of whispering--unavoidable in small towns--tend to blue everything.
Lovely nursery-rhyme rhythm, adding a touch of irony to the subject matter.
The rhythm is so lulling. And the phrase about the fast-blooming girls--well-crafted, as usual. (Actually, the whole thing is expertly crafted. That was just one of my favorite lines.)
You are so good with the repetition in a small space. I love the rhythm and imagery of the whole. It is delightful.
I love this!! You have captured that small town meanness so artfully!!
Clever. True. With an appropriate mockery of all involved!
Coal wants to record this.
