Unwrapped stars
taste of chocolate,
but only once
per wish.
The moon crescents
into a kite -
I'm a stick girl
sodded to earth.
Michelangelo painted
a womb, a brain,
a man
navelled to nothing.
My tongue's out to taste
every apple crisp
temptation in this garden
that's not.

I'm very much in love with the first stanza.
May I please marry your last stanza? I promise to be faithful to it. Well, as long as the first stanza doesn't blow chocolate kisses my way. Yum!
Yeah. All of this.
I think there is a snake somewhere in that last stanza :-)
Gorgeous.
MZ--I thought "navelled to nothing" was the line I loved best, and then I got to the end.
How do you do it? Every poem is a gem...
I always marvel at your deft touch ~
I love the second stanza - it works as a part of the whole, but also as a kind of stand alone image.
Your figurative language really sings throughout.
I always wonder what circuitry your brain is on, to put together what seems like discongruent thoughts so seamlessly?
A feast of a poem... delicious words and wit!
I absolutely love this!!❤️ Especially the first and last stanza ❤️
Yes! That last line is delightful!
Amazing thoughts woven together in this beautiful poem...I love it!!
You had me at the chocolate stars....beautiful, but with a bit of sourness too - which makes it seem both real & fantastical. Thanks for sharing!
