Tsk! I fear you have been misled. That sounds more like the voice of the President.
Your poem hurls me back to Friday. I wake up, and think, 'It's just a nightmare,' but then I realize that it's NOT a nightmare. It's NOT an awful dream. It's our horrible reality... for the next four years.
I hear a voice like that as long as I'm far from any churches
I connect the most with the first two lines. A lot of the time, I just don't want to hear it. But the problem is with me, not Him.
The sound of the ghost of Alpha Male Past is the radiation sickness in Rush & Fox & Co., weirding the more outre it becomes. A terror become a guilt become a peeve with the power to wield fraudulent rage. American ISIS, dirty white boys raising fists in retro rain. What's weird to everyone not wired to that voice (a majority aren't) is that there is no content to it, nothing that connects with the heart. Just white noise. An empty pulpit still echoing wih rage. Anyway, amen.
Such palpable emotion in your verse!!
The male imperative is hard to silence.
Sometimes it's not a bad thing to be deaf. An agile and sharply pointed piece, MZ, and frankly, one gets tired of that Voice no just wanting our devotions, but constantly praising Itself.
"de(i)void"you clever thing you.
sounding so mean,so male,so Mars and misogynisticMmmm - I agree!
well, some people's God! very well-phrased, and striking and clever--for these times and any times. I am lucky to just internalize the God i want! Thanks so much, MZ, for sharp poem. k.
oh, have mercy
Earmuffs can be such a blessing at times...
LOL. I thought the same as Rosemary.
Yeah, I don't think She sounds like that at all.
You spoke that right out of my head! Lol!
