Earth Axis Girl

Earth axis girl
with a spring fever tilt.
Kneel dirty knees
wet with murder and milk.
You're flowering.

A beautiful flowering.

Ekphrasis girl
a paint by the blind
blood buried braille
for fingers to find.
You're sparrowing.

Starling and sparrowing.

You've got sky between your thighs.
You're built of the bones of archetypes
that know it's better to be alive
than wise and dead.
So open up your head

and let wildflowers seed.

Loved it all - especially the earthy eroticism, but esp

"So open up your head

and let wildflowers seed." Bril, baby, bril.

WOW! I especially love "you're sparrowing." Brilliant writing.

So much to love here... the contrasts between the gentle and murder, between blood and a sigh... and sparrowing is a word I envy.

I too kept seeing "images" of an amazing oil painting or something... so graphic in its imagery - stunning and I won't copy my favorite lines as I'd just copy and paste the whole thing!

An amulet for a Northern winter, muse of Frost's "To Earthward" and warm on Brian and the two other guys on crosses signing "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life." Cue wildflowers! A fine hedge-spell.

Nothing like being unnecessarily aloof and not wanting to be involved. Opening oneself to other's opinions can be helpful and rewarding!

I love how you use "starling" as if it were a verb. This entire poem is exactly that...real poetry, the way it should be written.
