Conversation

Be careful what you say - be sure
to make yourself quite clear,
for sometimes what you say
isn't what I hear.
My heart has its way
with connotation and intent
and, ever fearful, hears a hurtful thing
where no hurt or harm was meant.

Yes, I so know THAT feeling, and live with the sensitivity daily, surrounded by people who do not communicate in words, but in energy that I can feel. Sigh.

Oh that fearful heart! It's interesting to imagine who that narrative voice might be. Some people delight in misunderstanding, but I hate being "oversensitive."

Perfectly written, MZ.

Indeed sometimes words are misunderstood. Try as hard as we can, sometimes the message does not get across in the way that it was intended. Point well made,MZ.

I can definitely relate to this one, Sherry. My house is cloaked in misunderstandings!

Good one Love it we often interpret words to our own believes, which might be utterly wrong

It is sad we have two or more languages that mean different things. Often we
say what we think people want to hear, or we may flatter unnecessarily which then seems false. How important it is to talk with our eyes meeting and touching too so that what we say is real.
