Mama, Mama, me thinks you protest too much, for self-deprecation can be cathartic, but we loyal MZ readers must declare that a writer, a poet, a philosopher you most definitely are, & we applaud every sharing you deem appropriate. As an ex-actor, I devour & love open mic experiences, breathing in & listening to the faster heartbeats of a live audience.

Yes, you are (a writer). I have felt this way at open mics, which I do rarely.

As usual this is really creative - purple bled blue - so descriptive with a plethora of meanings...language really is like a carnival as you use it..a never ending kaleidoscope of color and meaning.

I love the choice we--as loyal and frothing-at-the-mouth readers of yours--have to make at the end: is it read (pronounced like reed) or is it read (pronounced like red)?

Love it. The whole thing, but the twist at the end is especially cool.

(And the foam around my mouth is not due to being rabid, but instead due to excitement.)
