Salt On The Rim

Too quiet means there's trouble,
as every mother knows.
A little salt on the rim of paradise
preserves a humble soul.

Got wine to cleanse the palette.
Vinegar for scrubbin' the floor.
Honey to draw the flies to your fingers;
duct tape for the old screen door.

Ha ha ha. This is so hilarious to me, for personal reasons. You'll never know how perfect this is. You rock my world. A treat every time I visit.

And oh boy, are the first two lines every true! My five-year-old has taken to writing her name on EVERY flat surface she can find.

Wine, vinegar, honey, and duct tape. That's a home repair toolkit if ever I heard one. (Also, they could double as a twist set of aphrodisiacs in a pinch.)

Slat on the rim or in your wounds. I'm thinking it's a margarita. Don't throw it over your shoulder.

Yes... every mother knows. I miss the days when my kids were little though - not enough salt on the rim anymore.
