Tiger Tale

I chased you like a tiger chases her tail,
and now I know
when a tiger catches her tail in her teeth
she can't let go.
Dizzy, spinning around the sun
all appetite and pride.
When a tiger catches her tail in her teeth,
she eats herself alive.

Buck Owens could not have put it any better!

This is a keen and valuable realization, so long as the lightbulb went off before tail was in teeth!

As is usually the case with your writing, the rhyme was seamless and sneaked up on me.

Poor tiger, but there are those of us that are tigers eating ourselves.

Magnificent, MZ. This little drawn round captures the whole vicious cycle. For what? Appetite and pride, til one eats oneself alive.

Tyger, tyger. Avoid.

Wonderful! Can't stop the chase even if it kills you!

Good one. It makes me wonder who the tiger's tail was.

The things we do to ourselves when not paying attention, chasing after the same hungers, round and round telling same stories that eat us up.

Thanks for the warning! :-)

Self satisfaction or Self destruction- at times, things are just on the rim...A beautiful analogy.
