Must Be Love

it must be love
this free-flowing vein
this pen prick pricking and picking
my brain
this blank paper bliss
bleeding on paper this
must be love -

cause it damn sure don't pay

As per usual, your poem is excellent, but here's where it really flew for me
" blank paper bliss"

That's real. Much love, DJ Moskowitz

LOL. I love it! It pays in happy-heart-ness, though, right? Not writing sucks.

Yep!

All for love, nothing for reward.

Yes, it isn't easy, but it sometimes can be pretty, like here.

So much real love is in vain.. hence the blood and pain.

Sho got that right. The lovely lyricism of the first stanza sways to the love song that isn't. At least, Apollo isn't wooing us that way. He's firing arrows through us. Imagine if we were paid to write poems what major league pitchers get, three thousand, ten thousand dollars a strike. For me the unwritten law of life is the less you contribute, the more you make. Imagine paid mothers.
