Chance Of Rain

There's a chance of rain today.
But, isn't there always a chance of rain?
I mean, we see our bit of blue and call it the sky,
but that's just blink and heartbeat.
Clouds edge our eyes,
gathering, gathering,
but we're all blind.
Clear day blind.
There's a chance of rain today.
But, isn't there always?

Oh, yes!! At least here in the northwest there is always, every day a chance for rain!! But we are enjoying sunshine right now and I LOVE it!!

I really like this:
"we see our bit of blue and call it the sky,
but that's just blink and heartbeat."

could be worse,
there could be a chance for more snow...at which point,
i maybe lose whatever i have left
of my sanity

I like the conversational style of your voice. And I'm a sucker for a bookended row of forthright words. Wrapped up that little nugget of wisdom for me. Thanks.

Beautifully written! (Here in my part of Auistralia, the rain is guaranteed lately.)

You're talking about crying. That's why you gave us the hint that clouds crowd your eyes. You feel like crying every day. You try to hold it back, but it's always just inside the lids.

As the saying says, "there is none so blind as he who cannot see." He isn't any blinder if it rains; just wet and blind. If it's dry, then you have to dust the blind. God I'm deep today.

Life and sunny days will always offer a chance of a splash, indeed.

Since others are saying what this means to them I'll add my two cents... Your poem is me enjoying a sunny day just waiting for the rain to start - I guess I'm a cynic.

Mama Zen--I love the full circle quality of this poem. Short and sharp, as always...

"Clouds edge our eyes,
gathering, gathering,
but we're all blind.
Clear day blind." yeah, we do like to see the blue, long to see it, ridiculously disappointed by life's ceaselessly changing weather.. blinded by our own inner workings, not always present to what is true.

"clear day blind" I love that. I feel we are all drowning in gray.

Just blame it on Climate Change, Mom Zee. Although, I could be "clear day blind" and not even know it.
My next week says (high)% chance of rain, one day 80% thunderstorms.
