If All The Stars

If all the stars
of a constellation fall

but one,

will that single star wrestle back
the black of night

alone?

Will it fire its fragment of heaven?
Will it shine in the remade sky?

Or without its constellation,
will it die?

I hope it lives on.

Very thought provoking.

That ending is wrenching. I like this poem a lot.

Such an excellent and poetic question. Can any one thing stand alone against the blackness of oblivion? Is any light in the darkness enough?

Stars they give us hope, we would be hopeless, no more wishing on a star...so sad

I cheer for the underdog...so I'm all for that lone star wrestling back the black night all alone. Beautifully posed questions.....and your post resonates with me too because of some similar language to mine (fragments of heaven, for example). Guess we both saw/felt something familiar in Salvatore's words :-)
