in companionable silence;
if we had nights
of discarded lace;
if we had mornings
as others have mornings,

think
of the poetry erased.

Sometimes, poetry springs up to fill a void in life. So yes, with all such days and nights, life would have its hands full. Loved this! :)

Fantastic poem, MZ, though it makes me feel wistful.

it IS wistful and gorgeous.

(Nice rhyme--"lace" and "erased.")

Oh, gosh, yes! During the happiest periods of my life, I barely wrote anything... especially loved your evenings of discarded lace...

Poets aren't much good at being happy. Ask Poe. Perfect truth here.
