Creation

It seems solid enough to the naked eye,
but brought up close and magnified,
the smallest sliver of ancient life
has more holes than the theory of creation.

Having successfully meddled in healthcare, our good friends at Hobby Lobby have turned their attention to building a Bible museum in Washington, D.C. and designing a curriculum for the Oklahoma City Public Schools.  Jesus wept.

Ah, well.. I see the Bible as part of our ancient culture but I do appreciate the irony of your commentary here. People believe what they want to believe and I err on the side of science.

He wept, and then he said my favorite word.

It's a sad state of affairs...

Babs tells me that Joel Osteen has been getting into the critter-proof trash cans again. God told him to.

Brilliant closing I love how you bring us microscopically in...both visually and into your point. Excellent and thank you for the challenge, Mama Zen!

Brilliant pictures and challenge. As for Hobby Lobby, I'm considering becoming an ex pat!

Beautiful, and "He wept" so honestly vivid! I used the same image for mine. From first sight of my heart spoke for me.

"jesus wept" how short crisp and saddening that was!!

It's so weird how even the church has been dumbed down. In older times, eve staunch believers did not go for the literal. Agh. Very clever, MZ. K.

Mom Zee, I love your seeing the holes. Donuts and stars have hole forms that amount to something. Most of the others are for structural support.

Hmmm...must be the work of the holey spirit? Maybe?

Laffin at Other Mary's comment. I guess there have to be holes so the money can get through--and the blood. Great challenge, MZ.

Growl, I so agree with you...I am an x shopper at Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for the inspiration that I needed today, Mama Zen. Yes, holes are necessary but some have extra ones in their heads and the winds of change don't blow there...sheesh...

I could see designing a curriculum for a private school - I have a different take on Hobby Lobby, though (as always I straddle the fence on issues - not totally on either "side" - and a Bible museum? If it embraced all the translations - and history of Christianity (Protestant & Catholic) and Judaism - that would be interesting to me. But, I don't think that will happen.

Either way, the poem itself has a tone and vibe to it that rings loud and clear. You always do that well and I always admire it.
