Sonnets

After the rain caught us,
your hair smelled sweet as sonnets,
and the wet cotton cling to your everything
drove me mindless mad.
It's too bad

there was sun
behind the clouds.

Too bad. I can feel the possibilities evaporating.

I love the title. I love the lines:
and the wet cotton cling to your everything
drove me mindless mad

Wish I'd written this.

The surprise in that last line caught me off-guard in a good way...

Now how did you make this so charming AND rhyme it so imaginatively?

I love the smell of a wet puppy dog. I have since my first whiff. The wet cottons are overpowering, I would forget even the smells.
Sun, Sun, go away. Little Johnny wants to play.
