4 O'Clock

I have a 4 o'clock conscience.
It blooms late
in afternoon's fade,
and it keeps me awake all night

nectaring monsters.

Note: 4 o'clocks bloom in late afternoon, release an extremely sweet scent throughout the night, and close in the morning.

Excellent poem. Moonflowers bloom at dusk and smell like heaven must surely smell. It's amazing to me how God created flowers that bloom from dawn to dawn again. Perfectly awesome. xo

A great one as always, MZ, and by golly, I do believe I tend to have a 4 o'clock conscience, too!!

Fabulous! Such a clever link between the petunia and the human conscience.

Ha. I think of other appropriate phrases such as " the sun is over the yars arm". (Cocktails acceptable ) and five I clock shadow. Thanks so much, MZ, for your wit and your kindness. K.
