Look

Georgey and Esther Attend Couple's Therapy by Lisa Graham

"Look,"
he says.
"There's nothing to be scared of."
I think he's a fool.

I look
because there's everything to be scared of,
and seeing is all
that can save me.

For Grace's challenge at Real Toads.

Looking & seeing from a woman's point of view are different from a man's perspective ~ I am probably going to read lots of stories from this picture, smiles ~

Thanks for writing for Sunday's Challenge MZ ~ Wishing you happy weekend ~

Forewarned is forearmed, I always say. Keep your cheaters on, MZ.

Seeing it coming or not.. there's nothing that can save you.

Your poem ties it all up in a nutshell. great response to the pic.

I dunno if this is a literal take on the pic -- a view of couples' therapy -- but both parties had better be warned.

I had to wonder who'd been peeking through my curtains.
Great take on the prompt, MZ.

i like your poem very much. I had rather imagined them just sitting on the bench together not talking in a nice sort of way. That would be therapy for me.

Perfection! As always, I read your words, and they are Deep Truth and I wonder why I never thought of it.......I especially love "and seeing is all that can save me." Yup!

there is plenty of things to be scared of, but if we let the fear rule us, what will we miss...

As always, MZ--you nail it in the most focused way possible--when the issue is trust, there isn't *anything* that isn't something to be scared of.

Very true, with eyes stapled or lovely closed shut, one cannot see truth

You've said it all in the grace of a few words...

Yep! Diametrically opposed world views and coping styles. Few words. Big meaning.
