Stone

I'm gray
and sane
as stone.

Uphills
melt/meet
the downs.

I traded
such highs
and lows

not to burn
when you come
around.

I'd rather burn.

I too might rather burn if I were younger. Romance, too, is like playing with matches. Clear crisp poem, grey and smooth and sane.

Yesterday was a long day ~~ Gemini/Scorpio/Capricorn got me through the first few (in the end there were five) hours of waiting while my son had six posts implanted into his jaws for the replacement teeth that come when healing has completed.

THANK YOU

This is also a koan. I love how you used my poetry form (The Soupy Sales: 25 Words or Less) for this excursion. I's honored.

Seriously, your writing is masterful minimalism. YOu give credence to the aphorism: the best writers are even better editors.

I didn't mean to write koan, but your work has a zen-like simplicity that is powerful.
