The late winter thunder barks German
with a gusty hiss
that sends my wind chimes twisting
Wagner.
The clouds blue black,
and lightening flash
frames the back of the lines.
Time to retreat
to a pillow built barricade
armed with poetry and you
to french
and to resist
till the sturm und drang troop through.
Fiction in 55 words for my G-Man!

brilliant! love "till the sturm and drang troop through" (shades of my German literature classes in college) - & oh goody, i can hardly wait for the next thunder storm, so i can practice my German again ;)
"armed with poetry and you" -- sounds perfect.
To French, and to resist really makes this poem.
If I was a lit or history professor I would bring this to class and ask for flash impressions! Marvelously done.
