A zen koan
and gone goddess.
A riddle
and a promise
held in secret self

A blank spot
for knowledge
between instinct
and insight.
Illumination -
of Nirvana
is mine.

Playing around with Shawna's #16 Word List.
Submitted to Poetry Pantry.

Excellent. You got me all excited; you haven't written for me in ages. This makes me very happy. I just posted a new list ... in actual normal-post form.

"gone goddess" is my favorite, and then "a riddle and a promise held in secret self" ... You are so awesome.

blank spots come round so rarely, and yes they are knowledge when they do. Very much enjoyed these words.

Brian Miller said... twist to make that a verb...those first four lines or so, fav part...

Such a cool poem. Reaching nirvana would be wonderful but also that spot between instinct and insight would be nice to travel.

So many avenues towards peace! I love to follow your thought patterns; you have such a unique approach to expression of self-hood.

I suspect I wouldn't know what to do with Nirvana if I found it. That's a flaw in me, not Nirvana.

An excellent example of what you do best here, Mz, but with a bit more shading and subtlety, a slowdance with a sharp blade that is sheathed in a deep intellectual and emotional dilemma, and tooled with the engravings of every rune of the heart, but never disguised.
