Monkey Mind

Time turns turgid in meditation
thanks to a miscreant monkey mind

that disrespects the demarcations
I attempt with ethereal candlelight.

With daily dementia and nonsense
and effervescence in his burlap bag,

monkey mind swings a treetop perspective
and uses zen to scratch his ass.

Love this. Only you could take the list and turn it into something so unique. :)

haha... I love "a miscreant monkey mind" and "uses zen to scratch his ass"... great incorporation (with seeming ease) of those tough words into such a light-hearted piece.

I never know what to expect from you, and yet this is exactly what I expect from you...perfection, with a twist.
Another fabulous MZ write.

Yes. Wonderful. Well done. But even a thoughtfully scratched you-know-what is probably better than a carelessly scratched one. (Ha.) k.

This pretty much sums up my experience meditating as well. I am much better with Quaker silence.
