In The Voice Of Barry White

Baby

you are the pineapple
in a fruit medley
packed with kumquats
and dumb twats
with prepackaged eyes.

You are old-fashioned sass
and frass
with herb laden
licorice lips
that I can still taste
late
the morning after.

You fresh squeeze me
like juice;
you savor the pulp and pith.

Baby

you are my low, low,
easy road
to the natural.

A Flipside poem.

How sweet. The "sass" and "frass," the line "You fresh squeeze me" are all lovely.

Ha ha! That was awesome. :) You are packed with personality, girl. LOVED the Barry White opening.

Even with something so lighthearted and fun, you go and throw in a sneaky line that's deep and thought-provoking: "with prepackaged eyes"

This person's flavor clearly stands out amongst the bland and cookie-cutter.

I love this section:

"licorice lips
that I can still taste
late
the morning after.

You fresh squeeze me
like juice;
you savor the pulp and pith"

Someone who can savor the pith is definitely a keeper.

I love that you can make this so steamy with nary a steamy word. It didn't hurt that you set the tone with your title. ;)

Wellll, I don't know I don't know I don't know why....I can't get enough of your poems, babe!

Barry aside, I love that last stanza. That's just sweet as molasses.

How low can you go--on the low road, pretty low, but you gotta go for the glow...baby....(lord--now it's in my subconscious, that fat fuzzy voice...)This is indeed sweet, (except for maybe the prepackaged eyes.)Every time I read you you get better, which doesn't seem possible, but there you are.
