Stairs

I wanted a home
with stairs -
two stories of stability to house
a happily ever after
rooted deep
and backdropped by unchanging scenery.

I didn't realize there would be so much climbing.

Liked this, MZ.

Yup, that climbing gets tiring after a while!

You can always install ramps--but the inclines never change. Someday someone is going to do posterity a favor and collect all these into the Parables of Ma Zen.

And believe me, at my age I'm damn tired of climbing!! Great one as always, MZ! I love it!

He He, and ouch! and climbing is the success side of the entire story. I send many landings, for resting in between.

It's been my finding, that happily eve after truly is a fairy tale.
More like happily before ever after.
Clever write, mz

The happily ever after myth has been causing problems for generations. Relationships and establishing home means lots of climbing, lots of work and lots of peering inside the self. Great write.

Alright! A great poem once again. Climbing is really tiring and I'm not a fan of it. But at the end of the stairs is a prize. All that climbing is all worth it.

I wanted the same once, but I climbed to high. Or was it he I went their with? I don't have an answer. Be mindful as you climb :).

Fun piece MZ. So much wisdom wrapped up in the words as well. The final line is pristine. Love it. Thanks

If only there could be a "stairmaster" to prepare us for those emotional stairs...

Lovely piece, MZ, and that last line is a gem.

Ahh, but all that climbing builds muscle tone and helps us learn how to balance.
