Close Up 2012

Underside by Jaime Clark

In close up,
stripped of rhetoric,
flag waving,
name calling,
and all other distractions,
it's clear that we're screwed.

Perfect, in form and message--and it only gets worse determining whether it's a "legitimate" screwing.

Brilliant! Your easy wit shines through, but the message is all too clearly received.

The pic looks really great against your black background too.

I wish it weren't so.

You speak the truth, Woman.

OMG! Could this BE any more brilliant? and, sadly, true?

Oh, yeah. But it's not too late. Uppity women unite!

Ha! You know I never watch TV so I don't feel so negative - I do read newspapers though - but still - but this weekend in Florida with my mom where she has TV - CNN on non-stop = I'm not sure how people even manage to breathe! It's just crazy how sensational it all seems (at least to me.) And I think that fear mongering really does lead to downward spiral. k.

Look at the bright side, it's now been declared by a brilliant man that women have the mojo to decide if they get pregnant or not!

To get screwed like that, you need a real "tool" to do it.

Unfortunately, in the political arena, there is no shortage of tools...

Ooooh, you went political. Me likey! Glad others are doing political commentary, even married with such a beautiful image.

And you're right, we ARE all screwed unless people start acting on their own instead of feeling disenfranchised and fearful. Amen. Amy

Not only in the US but in Canada too, politically this is true and outrageous. Good one.

Ha! It's not really funny, but what can you do other than laugh at this point. I'm not sure what the prompt was, but what a great play on the screw in the image. :)

"stripped of rhetoric" ... Loved that.

SaraV said...

Oh so perfect! You made me laugh out loud with your surprise ending there. Love it

Green Speck said...

Screwed? We need to remove the screw then :-)

Wow, no pity, straight to the wound, Mama Zen.
Powerful shadorma indeed, very effective and using strong words as required!
Think of those silent people starving in Africa who cannot even say they are screwed...
