I play that I'm God
and wonder if God ever
plays at being me.
Does she walk my street,
get her feet stepped on, and take
her own name in vain?
Does she wash the car
knowing full well that shit falls
from a cloudless sky?
Or, does she just do
what I should have done and take
a well-deserved nap?

excellent...love the opening line...reminds me a bit of saul williams when he says,
Never question who I am
God knows
And I know god personally
In fact he let's me call him me
i have it when that happens too right after washing the car...
haha..nice...i'm never washing my car...ugh...but maybe she would..
lol...very good. You feel she definitely would take a nap... ;)
Ha! "...shit falls from a cloudless sky" True that. She deserves that nap.
My sense is that its a permanent nap, with the Do Not Disturb sign up so the annoying mortals can't get in, but I'd much rather see you being the Deity than vice versa. I'm glad someone picked this picture as it's really alive, and you did it full justice here.
I specially like the first stanza...nice play here ~
That opening premise is weird and marvelous and completely outre. I love it.
A very clever, creative twist of fantasy laden with some challenging thoughts!
God as a she... I love it (reminds of the book The Shack).
Very nice job with these Haiku. Really like the deep questioning you focus upon in each. Great job. Thanks
I think God has spent a bit too much time napping and not paying attention to things that He/She should have been paying attention to and dealing with here on earth. Just my take.
Oh, she takes a bloody good long nap! despite the shyte ;)
Oh my, how I simply love this! Nice take on the photo.
Delightful!
The Christ Child at Play
God's definitely napping.
I vote for a LONG LONG nap ... delightful! This is my Day 8 ~~ Waiting Their Turn.
God might need therapy if he/she played at being me...lol Love this!!
Amazing work again from you; I think she may well play through you.
I love the image of God taking her own name in vain :)
Today's words are up, Kelli:

Lovely set and beautiful flow :)
Sounds good.
That first stanza pretty much says how I've been living for a while now. Perfect.
Sweet. Slightly irreverent. I think God does know JUST what it's like to be me.
LOVE this!

This is a fantastic and entertaining contemplation...
