I like how you took these age-old stereotyped notions of how a woman should act and what she should do and turned it into poetry, real nice job MZ, thanks
This would be funny if I didn't remember those stupid stereotypes. So many women in so many countries are still being taught how to be good wives. And even yet, new century and all, how blind we liberated ladies can be sometimes. K
So much anger here, with reason! I have always loved a woman with more then a little something going on between her ears...I guess the smart ones need love too!
Yes... I can so relate-- this is among the terrifying dicta passed from ma mere to me... thankfully, now in my sixties, I have literally spread out into who I am, chapped legs, floppy breasts, cellulite-pocked thighs and all... thanks for stopping by, as always! xxxj
As a man who is very secure in his masculinity, I like good girls, nice girls and quiet girls (though not exclusively), but am bored by stupid girls.
I can't believe women are still taught this, but judging from the response you hit on a universal truth. Will share this with my wise teenage daughters.
Reminded me of the films and books from the 50's on how to be a good wife and mother. Good thing times have changed somewhat...however, as you astutely point out, all is not well still with gender stereotypes. Great message and great writing.
No shite sherlock--and remember, you were born a slut and must work your way out of it by remaining always faithful, cheerful, useful, illiterate, barefoot and pregnant whilst yon spouse hits the tiles and screws everything that moves.
Errr...sorry--was channeling Rush Limbaugh there for a second. ;_)As always, you cut to the heart of the matter and lay it wide open.

Oh how women have been taught..I am more the rebel...Love this take on the prompt.
I like this a lot MZ~
She looks like she is not going to do any of these "suggested" things...
=)
I love them, you are so clever and you have a great way of starting my day and ending it with a smile, a giggle or a sigh!!

now why not...dont you want to be a proper lady...you know you wont get invited to the bridge game is you dont...
Well writ, ma'am. "Nice girls don't..." How long it takes to overcome that.

So much advice NOT to heed!
HA...I agree with Sue....
"I don't think so"
Peace ☮
sad to me that some girls still are brought up to believe those things.
Ditto
I'm sure glad I didn't raise my daughter like that ... sadly that was the case with most young women of my generation. Great Mag - Mama!
Cute advice.

This is so politically incorrect. Delightful!
I prefer a man with a more discerning eye ;)
But I feel this one’s not so stupid. She’s caught his eye and has got him fixed in her gaze. A sort of revenge? Well done.
I see this far too often...I teach High School.
Harsh. I hope my daughter is never one of those girls.
I do very much like your sharp pen Ms. Zen.
Loved this, Mama Zen. This advice still seems to float out there, doesn't it?

hahaha @ HW. I'd rather not catch a man if that is what it takes! :)
No stupid girl would catch my eye... LOL
:) haha..
Once I catch him, can I filet him and serve him for dinner with a nice bottle of Cab?
Absolutely love this! Brilliantly played off of her gaze.
Like, like, like. :)

Whew, you put this image under an icy microscope and gave it a glaringly new truth.
