Dreaming

Serotonin dreams,
sweet and strange.
Low dose reality.
High Freudian frolic.
And, you.

***
Fragile words
fetter me.
Fluttering pages
fold themselves into birds
far too lopsided to fly.
But, they do.
To you.

***

My younger self
wouldn't resist the gentle urgings
of such a constant moon.
But, I am old
and sold to safety.
Bold no more,
except here
with you.

Oh, YES. This:
Fluttering pages
fold themselves into birds
far too lopsided to fly.

Wonderful.

I totally love this, all three sections, but especially the last. Gentle urgings of such a constant moon....yeah baby. Great poem, a real mood setter.

Love this! From Ambien to ambiance. It's all dreamy!

Three panels of the same picture, slightly different focus, but obviously all parts of a whole--the form rocks, but the poetry is really the winner here.

You could give lessons in the art of subtlety, with just the right blend of words and sound, you take us from dreams to reality, youthful perspective to aged reason, each part hinged on 'you'.

Brilliantly done.

woW!The centre piece of this triptych is loaded! It flies right off the page, I can imagine you having to fold the side pages over it to contain it!

Fluttering pages
fold themselves into birds
far too lopsided to fly.

Wonderful!

That second stanza is a humdinger - but it's the last one that I can really relate to!

This is fantastically good. "such a constant moon" "old and sold to safety....except here with you." And the lopsided papers........the understatement is perfect and the underlying message profound. Sigh. Just lovely.

Uh-oh. Someone has a crush. :)

Love these lines:
"Low dose reality.
High Freudian frolic."

And the lopsided flying origami! Awesome.

Thank goodness you are "old" and "sold to safety" so that you can protect yourself from that persistent moon.

each of these are pretty cool, but the first one is my favorite of the three. Although the origami bit in the second I did like a lot as well. dreaming does take one in different directions. Nice piece
