Birdsong on a chain
rests between my breasts.
It was all that I could save
when I stumbled
on the nest
in flames.
Bible in my bag.
Knife tucked in my boot.
Sowing both sides of the seed.
Both sides taking root,
so I meditate
on inner peace
and payback.

Sowing both sides of the seed...that's something a double Gemini like me can understand.
This is classic MZ poetry. Hot, edgy, challenging, different.
I do agree with everything Fireblossom has written! Classic! Have a great evening, MZ!

This poem has two sides like the seeds, one of sheer amazing perception and beauty, the other...dark as dark gets, and both work together here for maximum mental penetration. Fine writing, MZ.
hehe sounds like you have the tools to follow either path...all in what you need to do the job...nice one mz
Wowzers, sowing both sides of the seed......and meditating on peace. Way cool. Who knows what those seeds will grow. Keep us posted:)
That first stanza is really something special. Like hedgewitch I was enchanted by the mix of dark and light.
Sowing the seeds of peace brings it to a higher level.

Either way, what needs to come due with come due.
