Walking away
you made the blues turn black
and the rivers run red
as my first time.
Walking away
you shouldn't turn your back
on the girl you made
and then made cry.
Fretting your frets
and worrying your whimsy.
No queen in the hive,
the honey is gone.
Don't the spotlight burn
with the set list empty?
Turned your back on the girl
birthin' the songs.
Lord, don't it make the blues turn black?
A little jam for Poetry Jam.
Don't forget to check out my interview at Real Toads!

This is some blues gone black all right. That second stanza, especially, broke my heart.
The blues gone black it is.
Sylvia
yes, it sure does...
why I don't date musicians?? Love the melody, but I wouldn't want to have to dance to it.
smiles on hedge's comment...still i always loved to date musicians...even when the blues turned black at times..was worth it...smiles.. jam on MZ
Runs a full gamut of emotions does this little gem!
The rhythm works so well with the topic, it draws you in and hits the emotions on the right notes. Lovely work
Band Survival Rule No. 1: Never screw the singer. (It's also the No. 1 Most Dissed Rule.)lse you get these blues gone black, a harpie stain that stays in the ears long after the ringing from the last night's set has subsided. Permanent damage. Ditto for bedding the muse. - Brendan
Oh those guitar players... yeah, they do that. I always went for the drummers. :)

Wicked write, love the use of language here and that second stanza is amazing. Great job. Great interview too, I need one of those Axolotl's they look really cool Thanks
Sad situation, but excellent writing. Blues turning black, I can picture that!
Love that fourth stanza! Musicians can be pricks but they're SO seductive.
Your work is very rich and has the feel of lyrics. I enjoyed reading the interview on Toads this week and thank you for visiting my blog!
I love this. I sure can feel the emotion. Thanks for visiting. Nice to meet you!
blues turning black..sad and despairing song here ~
after reading your interview, i can now see the music in your words ~
Hot and sexy for me even while it's sad. There's so much life in it. Definitely a broadband life here - as dark as bright, as bright as dark.
This Black blues really rocks! And I just love the title of your blog...I know I've said that before, but I'll probably say it again!
What's happened to yellow, sunny and upbeat? Blogland Blues are reaching overload...
Cads ~~ all of them! Great Poem.
