On Reading That Poem

It was like being kissed.
Not the fumbling first kiss
of paragraphs and prose,
but a kiss so lyrical against my lips
that my skin sang in answer.

It was like being touched
line
by line
by line
until my breath came fast and rough.

It was like being loved.
Every phrase.
Every word.
It was like being loved.

Revealing how the gift of poetry arrived in my world for the prompt at Real Toads.

You have expressed in your poem how I have felt when reading a poem that touched me..It becomes more than words...it becomes a part of me. Beautiful work!

I love the emotional connection your shared! Words do touch us like lyrical kisses, such a clever way to express your gift! :D

The intimacy of poetry and what it means to individuals on a personal level is beautifully captured in this image of poem as lover.
(I wonder which poem it was...)

A true blessing the gift of poetry is... especially from you, MZ!

Poetry can tingle and linger, make us shudder inside, or any other things.

That's how I judge poetry - by my response - not by any preconceived notions of what makes it good or bad.

(I also just music and all other art that way... it's all that matters to me)

Beautiful & lyrically perfect!

Your blog title really does your amazing poetry a disservice. It should read, "Another AMAZING Poetry Blog". xo

I remember the first poem written for me by someone 'bewitched' by me (his words ... I've loved poetry ever since that magic moment.

PS, back in the day I did resemble Elizabeth Montgomery - Samantha of Bewitched fame.

"until my breath came fast and rough" ... Wow. I like the idea of breath "coming."
