Bells

A bell can toll.  A bell can ring.
A bell's a most peculiar thing.

Swinging stately from mourn to morn;
a bell for the dying, a bell for the born.

A couple of couplets for dVerse

I always find bell's quite intriguing, how they symbolise so many things - the sound so pure though - something you captured here well! nice work!

Just fantastic!

What a way to ring in the New Year with a poem like this! :)

But of course, you have described bells as clearly as they ring out!

Lovely couplets. I've been messing around with a verse on bells. Now I wonder if I want to finish it. This was good.

Ring New Year's bells. I love bells too and think these couplets a fine write out of the year and a welcome to the new. I discovered a website about bells that I'll share with you here. I thought I might find it useful for a poem one day..but it's informative or at least it was for me.

I read this as an essential truth. The final couplet is epigrammatic in its wit and wisdom.
