As The Holidays Approach

When it comes to family gatherings,
one must have a limit.
Yes, blood is thicker than water,
but you can still drown in it.

At dverse, we're imitating our favorite poets.  Can you guess mine?

Love it.

It sounds very Dorothy Parker-ish to me. I'll cut the bitch. I thought that *I* was your favorite poet!

I hear ya sista, I feel anemic with the way my family bleeds me dry with family gatherings.
No clue on the poet though, please tell.

Epigrammatic and cutting, and oh so true. The only poet it really reminds me of is you.

I reckon it's me or you or some other poet with a big mouth:)

Unsure.
But sure do like this lots!

Like Kerry, I almost said Emily. I can't cut her, though, she's my mentor!

This is so very true. I'm attending a family wedding later this month, I think I'll pack my snorkel.

I can't guess but I'd go George Carlin, although not a poet, his wit is very poetic- perhaps shel silverstein- I don't know-lol But this poem is sooooooooooooooooooo hidden camera stuff for me. You've obviously seen inside my head during family gatherings cause every word matches me. Thanks, great write

Poe? hmmm. I don't know.

I would guess Dr. Seuss but it was too short, so I'll go with Shel Silverstein.

But the real question is, are you gonna tell us eventually?
