Walk

Lace your fingers with mine
and walk with me.
It's just a little rain.
Let's match our footsteps
and nestle in each other's silence.
I have others for the words I say.
But, I have only you
for what I leave unsaid.
Lace your fingers with mine
and walk with me a while.

For Open Link Night at dVerse.

Beautiful poem-- strikingly unusual turn on the meanings of silence-- a kind of hush emanates from the lines that is so spiritually satisfying-- xxxj

This is such a gentle piece, almost has a rocking motion to it, like lying a small boat, cocooned by the quiet lapping of the water. Made me take a moment this, thanks.

Lace fingers, you never see hand holding in public anymore, so sad to see those you know not really knowing how to love sweetly. Good read and warmly felt here too.

A lovely poem.
I particularly liked the idea of having words for others but not needing them for the one you love.
